Mind's Eye Logo
The mind’s eye symbol represents the human soul--body, mind and spirit. The dark part at the bottom is the body, and the white part at the top is the spirit. The center circle is the mind, which connects body and spirit. The white portion of the mind in the body represents the conscious mind; the dark portion of the mind is the unconscious or subconscious mind. Each of us is born with a mind half-opened. Some of us, like Socrates, spend a lifetime opening the eye as widely as we can. Others seem to lose their curiosity and child-like wonder. With each passing year, their mind’s eyes close further. They choose to live in darkness and become unaccustomed to the light. When they see someone with a light as bright as Socrates, it hurts their eyes, and they simply close them further. At death, the mind’s eye opens fully. The body falls away and the consciousness joins with all consciousness because the outer circle representing the outer circumference of the individual spirit is an illusion. In the words of Voltaire, "God is a circle whose center is everywhere, circumference nowhere.” Life, Consciousness, God, and Spirit are one and the same.
